چکیده
Biodiesel is produced from esterification and transesterification reactions of various vegetable oils such as coconut oil, palm seed soybean etc. Waste cooking oil has the potential a raw material for making biodiesel due to its abundant availability. The use CaO catalyst duck eggshells can increase quality. This study aimed obtain best with high yield in production using method. initial stage begins activating impregnated eggshell concentrations KOH distilled water (10 g KOH/100 mL, 15 20 25 mL). Followed by synthesis steps temperature variations (45˚C, 55˚C, 65˚C) reaction times 1, 2 3 hours 2% concentration amount waste molar ratio methanol: (7:1). experimental results showed that could be improved presence heterogeneous catalyst. values density, Free Fatty Acid (FFA), viscosity, acid number obtained was adjusted parameters SNI:7182:2015. Only total ester parameter (96.02%) cetane (40.4) did not meet requirements. Keywords: biodiesel, eggshell,

Transesterification of Waste Cooking Oil for Biodiesel Production Using Modified Clinoptilolite Zeolite as a Heterogeneous Catalyst
Reduction of fossil fuels sources, increasing of pollution gases emission, and global warming effects increase the demand of renewable fuels. One of the main candidates of alternative fuels is biodiesel. Biodiesel limits greenhouse gas effects due to the closed CO2 cycle. Biodiesel has more biodegradability, lower combustion emissions such as CO, SOx, HC, PM and lower toxicity than petro diesel...
متن کاملEfficient Synthesis of Biodiesel From Waste Cooking Oil Catalysed by Al2O3 Impregnated with NaOH
Due to the high price of virgin vegetable oils and the drawbacks of the homogeneous catalytic transesterification, in this work an economically profitable alternative process was proposed for biodiesel synthesis in which transesterification of the low-cost waste cooking oil (WCO) with methanol in a heterogeneous system was done. Alumina impregnated with sodium hydroxide was utilized as a solid ...
متن کاملThe study of CaO and MgO heterogenic nano-catalyst coupling on transesterification reaction efficacy in the production of biodiesel from recycled cooking oil.
BACKGROUND Fossil fuels' pollution and their non-renewability have motivated the search for alternative fuels. Some common example of seed oils are sunflower oil, date seed oil, soy bean oil. For instance, soy methyl and soy-based biodiesel are the main biodiesel. Biodiesel is a clean diesel fuel that can be produced through transesterification reaction. Recycled cooking oil, on the other hand,...

متن کاملEsterification of Waste Cooking Oil Followed by Transesterification by CaO Nanoparticles: Application of Taguchi Methodology
In order to produce biodiesel from waste cooking oil and optimize its yield, a two-stage process of esterification/ transesterification has been used in this study. First, we used the acidic catalysts H2SO4 in order to diminish the content of free fatty acid (FFA) in oil that caused reducing the oil acidity from 6.1% to 0.57% through esterification. Then, the biodiesel was produced by transeste...
